Winning Suppliers Dunk Draka Staff & Donate Monies to EESF

At Draka's Supplier/Customer Celebration Event held May 7, 2009, in Rocky Mount, NC, crowds swarmed around John Moore and Sterrett Lloyd, Draka's President and COO & Managing Director, respectively.  Draka suppliers, customers, and staff wanted ample opportunity for their chance to hit the target and dunk a Draka dude.  And they got it!  

Following John and Sterrett's plunge into the tank, Draka Sales Managers John Kelly, Don Simons, and Mark Yako stepped up.  The "dunkees" played a great game, taunting their colleagues, sitting on a small board that would eventually fall below them and push them into a vat of water.  Not to worry - every single "volunteer" came out soaked.

The event was a wonderful celebration and thank you to loyal Draka customers and recent 2009 Draka supplier award winners.  After a sunny day of golf, most dunkees found the cool water refreshing.  Many spectators eagerly marched up to the throw line to have their shot and to contribute to the Elevator and Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF).  The named organization creates and distributes materials and programs to the public to promote safety when using elevator and escalator equipment.  A portion of the proceeds were donated to EESF.
